Glorious Gluten Free Foods was established in 2011 by Pennie Roberts after she saw how a close friend with Coeliac disease struggled to find anything tasty to eat in cafes and teashops.

On the rare occasion that a gluten-free cake was available, it was often a poor imitation of the ‘normal’ products on offer and turned a special occasion into a frustrating experience. Pennie began researching recipes that were naturally gluten-free and therefore didn’t compromise on taste.

From the original Spanish orange and almond cake, the range has grown to encompass lemon, carrot, cherry, chocolate and fruit cakes – many of which were developed after requests from hungry Coeliacs. The recipes have been thoroughly tested and approved by both Coeliac and non-Coeliac volunteers, of which Pennie found there was no shortage.

We aim high: We want to make the world a better place, one cake at a time.

We are inclusive: Our gluten-free cakes are delicious enough to be enjoyed by everyone – they just happen to be gluten-free. We also cater for other dietary requirements, supplying dairy-free and egg-free cakes and responding to requests for other ‘free-from’ requirements.

We are sustainable: As a small business in the Peak District, we try to keep our business as natural and environmentally friendly as possible. We don’t use more packaging than necessary and we use biodegradable bags and boxes where possible.

Standards & Certification

All our products are regularly tested to ensure compliance with Codex (< 20ppm gluten).

We received a 5* food hygiene rating from our latest inspection.
